This feeder's innovative weight-activated exterior cage wraps protectively around the seed compartments. When a squirrel climbs onto the cage, the spring-loaded exterior cage drops down, throwing the squirrel off balance and lowering the ornamental leaves on the cage down into position where they effectively act as a barrier, covering the seed ports and preventing squirrels from pillaging the seed supply. Easy-to-access settings allow for adjusting the cage's spring tension as necessary. The feeder's nine seed ports nicely dispense bird seed, while its bird-preferred, U-shaped metal perches allow birds to comfortably perch and feed.
